Burdock is a very common vegetable in Japan. There are many ways to cook it and the Teriyaki Beef Veggie Roll is one of the more popular ways to use Burdock Root.
Ingredients
- burdock (gobou)
- thin sliced beef
- teriyaki sauce
- flour
Directions
- Boil burdock until soft but still crunchy. You can cook with dashi and soy sauce if you want.
- Spread beef and sprinkle flour.
- Put burdock on the beef and roll like sushi roll.
- Cook beef roll in frypan until beef is almost done. And add teriyaki sauce and keep cooking until beef is completely done.
- You can eat immediately, but marinate with left over teriyaki sauce in a plastic bag for over night is better.
If you can’t get burdock in your area, carrot or celery works well.
