Here is another one I just found at my local super in Hilo. I have said, if I can find it here in Hawaii, I will review it. This was in an eight pack box with 2 of each type. I am first trying the Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale. First impression was that it is the closet thing I have found to my “beer of the year”, Red Rice Ale from Hitachino Nest in Japan. I am really dig’n this one from Ireland.
First of all, it has one of those micro burst thingys [technical term] in the can that poof up the draft quality and make it foamy, and in this case, creamy. Light red color and beautiful ever so large creamy, off white head. I have to say, I want more of this. I paid $16 for the eight pack and now I wish it was all one flavor. I know regular Guinness well, but I doubt the others can live up to this one. We will see soon enough as they are in the fridge chilling as we speak.
This pack is called, “Amazing Ales” variety pack limited edition. I will be back for more! These are ales that have passed through the St, James Gate in Ireland and that is the only Guinness I want passing my gate. If I want knock off beer made under license, there are too many poor examples to choose from.
Go out and find this one. I will soon comment on the rest of the pack but the first will be hard to beat!
