Very nice golden color and large white head, as pored from the large, 650 ML bottle. Back to an IPA that has the strong bitterness I have come to expect, or did, before trying some Japanese craft IPA’s.
This one is 6.9% abv and the hops really stand out in typical IPA fashion. It gets a bit smoother as you progress through the glass and turns into a nice, freshly bitter beer. This is back to the real taste of a classic IPA done right. Strong and full bodied, but doesn’t fight you all the way down.
Overboard IPA beer does well on the rating scale and I gave it high marks on rate beer.com.
If you are in Hawaii and see this one on the shelf anywhere, buy it. If you like IPA’s, you’ll like this one.
Big Island Overboard IPA is brewed by Big Island Brehaus.
