Here is another one from my local brewery. Mehana and Hawaii Nuii are two names from the same brewery. Today I am doing Hapa Brown ale. This is nice ale with a roasted malt/nutty taste. It does have a bit of a tang after taste from the can not evident at the brewery. If my area had trains like Japan, I would hang at the brewery and take the train home. Can’t drink and drive so that’s a no go.
Cloudy dark brown color with a medium tan head. Medium body with light to medium carbonation. Nice earthy aroma and smooth taste. The hops also give an earthy taste to the back of the mouth and add to the nutty malt tones.
I like this one from my local craft beer maker. I will buy Hawaii Nuii Hapa Brown Ale for a regular addition to my beer drinking week. It was also cheaper at my local grocery store this week and that brings it down to a level that says stock up!
