One of the perks of having a beer blog is every once in awhile, you come across something really nice you would not have tried before. This is one of those and one of the most amazing taste departures for beer yet.
The Cherry is kicker here and I mean kick. At 8.5% abv, this one will sneak up on you. You can really taste the dark cherry flavor on top of the usual dark notes for this German style dark. Chocolate, roasted malt smell with only a hint of the cherry until you taste it.
Comes in a 4 pack and was about ten bucks here in Hawaii but worth it. Brewed with Door County Wisconsin cherries and the Big Eddy part, is from the name of the springs in Chippewa Falls, Wis.
A lot of sites like to rate by number or some such system. I just know if it is really good, nice occasionally or give it a pass. I try not to follow a given system and just say what I feel at the time. FIND this one and treat yourself. This was my first try at anything from this brewer and I will definitely remember it. I would try anything I can find from them without the slightest hesitation. This is a premium, master crafted drink. I had 3 the first day and only one left over for this review, so I am already regretting not buying more.
