This is a strong dark Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, slight hop, and earthy malt. This is a pretty strong drink and I chose it over a lighter red that I was given a chance to taste at the Hilo Burger Joint. Just had to go for that mouth explosion when given the choice. A Bit of a malt and caramel smell and nice head for this dark red ale. This is a pretty powerful drink that I would buy and drink occasionally. Not a daily fare but quite nice and interesting. The high alcohol had me rethink a second pint at lunch, since I was driving. Went very well with the high end burger and garlic edamame side at the restaurant.
