This Friday, August 21, celebrate Aloha Friday at The Westin Resort and Spa. I’m not trying to tell you what to do or anything, but this sounds like a fun evening to me. If you miss this one there are more planned. They are looking for $65.00 per person, a little pricey maybe, but it sure sounds like good food and beer.
The feast, prepared by restaurant chef Jennifer Evetushick (known as Chef Jen), includes togarashi Ahi steaks with pickled Maui onion and wasabi-soy nage, ribeye steak with oceanside salt rub and ginger scallion pesto, and Polynesian-style Jerk chicken with Maui Gold pineapple chutney.
The chef is also partnering with Maui Brewing Company for this premiere event, incorporating the robust beer flavors into entrees like Kīhei Kölsch grilled tako with avocado-cilantro pesto and lomi-lomi tomato, and side dishes such as Bikini Blonde charred corn on the cob and fire-roasted Molokaʻi sweet potato with Coconut Porter jus.
