You may want to mark August 8th on your calendar. That will be the first day you have the opportunity to sample the latest craft beer from Kona Brewing Company. Kai Golden Ale is the latest from the Makana Series of small batch beers.
This is part of a charity fund raising that Kona is doing on behalf of the Surfrider Foundation. It’s a way they are giving back to the community that has helped them for the last 21 years.
This is the third beer in the Makana Series and is a 4% ABV. The highlight of this brew is the water. Kona Brewing Company decided to go down 3,000 feet off the Kona coast to bring up seawater. It is then desalinated and left full of minerals giving the beer refreshing qualities and a crisp finish.
Get your first taste on the 8th at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu. Tickets are $21 and the doors open at 5:15. If you are part of the media you are invited in early, from 4-5. You will also be given free passes to the concert following. Find more info on the Kona website.
After that Kai Golden Ale will be available on draft, at about thirty different bars, for three months only, give or take.
