Hawaii beer in Alaska, how lucky for them. Like me, they thought Kona came from Hawaii but not so. The same recipe, just brewed in Oregon. That’s not a big deal to me, I like the beer, but for some it makes it not so authentic.
Here comes Maui Brewing Company to the rescue. Bikini Blonde, Big Swell IPA and Coconut Porter should be on it’s way soon. Real Hawaiian beer in Alaska.

The Alaska/Hawaii connection is changing. By the end of the month, we should be receiving Alaska’s first truly Hawaiian beer, and it’s coming from Maui Brewing Company.
“The big issue is shipping schedules,” says Burket, which is no surprise to me. “Maui beer was supposed to ship a week or so ago, but it hasn’t shipped yet. We’re hoping by next week.”
You’ll actually enjoy the beer in Juneau before we will up here in Anchorage. According to Burket, “Juneau will actually see the beer first, and then it will creep up here to Anchorage.” Read More.
